ജ്ഞാനം ശക്തിയാണെങ്കില്‍ മീഡിയയെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്നവര്‍ ഏറ്റവും ശക്തരായി മാറുക സ്വാഭാവികം. മാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെ സ്വാധീനത്തെപ്പറ്റി അമേരിക്കന്‍ നേതാവ് മാല്‍കം എക്‌സ് പറഞ്ഞു: “ഭൂമുഖത്തെ ഏറ്റവും സ്വാധീനശക്തിയുള്ള സത്വമാണ് മാധ്യമം. നിരപരാധിയെ അപരാധിയാക്കാനും അപരാധിയെ നിരപരാധിയാക്കാനും അതിനു കഴിയും. അധികാരമാണ് ഇതിന് പിന്നില്‍, എന്തെന്നാല്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്നവര്‍ മനുഷ്യമനസ്സുകളെയാണ് നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്നത്”.
വാര്‍ത്താമാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ മുന്‍വിധിയോടെ നടത്തുന്ന വിചാരണ അവസാനിപ്പിക്കാതെ വര്‍ഗീയ വിപത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് പൂര്‍ണമായ മോചനം സാധ്യമല്ല. ഇസ്‌ലാം വിരുദ്ധമായ സൈദ്ധാന്തികാക്രമണം പടിഞ്ഞാറിന്റെ അപരനായി കണ്ടുകൊണ്ടുള്ളത് തന്നെയായിരുന്നു എന്ന് മുസ്ലിം പ്രതിനിധാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് വിശദമായ അവലോകനം നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് മീഡിയ വിദഗ്ധന്‍ പൂള്‍ തെളിയിക്കുന്നു.ഒരമേരിക്കന്‍ മീഡിയ വിദഗ്ധന്‍ അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടതുപോലെ ഒരറബിയെ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഭയലേശമന്യേ അടിക്കാം, എന്തെന്നാല്‍ അവന്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ വില്ലനായ ശത്രുവാണ്. ഇത്തരത്തില്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഒരു ജൂതനോടോ കറുത്ത വര്‍ഗക്കാരനോടോ പെരുമാറാന്‍ ആവില്ല.
ഭൂഗോളം കരവലയത്തിലൊതുക്കാനും എണ്ണയടക്കമുള്ള വിഭവങ്ങള്‍ രാജ്യത്തേക്ക് നിര്‍വിഘ്‌നം ഒഴുക്കാനും തന്ത്രങ്ങള്‍ ആവിഷ്‌കരിക്കുന്നത് ഉപഭോഗതൃഷ്ണയെ കൂടുതല്‍ കൊഴുപ്പിച്ച് പ്രകൃതിയെ കൂടുതല്‍ ചൂഷണം ചെയ്യാനും മാത്രമാണ്. കോര്‍പ്പറേറ്റ് രാഷ്ട്രീയ നേതൃത്വങ്ങളുടെ ദുരാഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ ദാസ്യവേലയാണ് മീഡിയ നിര്‍വഹിക്കുന്ന ധര്‍മ്മം.
ഭീകരതയെക്കുറിച്ച് തികച്ചും അയഥാര്‍ത്ഥമായ ചിത്രമാണ് ആഗോള മീഡിയ പ്രതിഫലിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. 1980 മുതല്‍ 2005 വരെയുള്ള എഫ്.ബി.ഐ കണക്കുകള്‍ പ്രകാരം, മറ്റേത് വിഭാഗക്കാരെക്കാള്‍ ഭീകര പ്രവണത കുറഞ്ഞവരാണ് അമേരിക്കന്‍ മുസ്‌ലിംകള്‍. പ്രസ്തുത കാലയളവില്‍ നടന്ന മൊത്തം ഭീകരപ്രവര്‍ത്തനത്തിന്റെ 7%വും ജൂതര്‍ നടത്തിയപ്പോള്‍ മുസ്ലിം പങ്കാളിത്തം 6% മാത്രമായിരുന്നു. 42% ലാറ്റിനോകളും 24% തീവ്ര ഇടതുപക്ഷവും നടത്തി. എന്നാല്‍ മുസ്‌ലിംകള്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെട്ട ഭീകരതക്ക് ലഭ്യമാകുന്ന ക്രമാതീതമായ കവറേജ് മൂലം (ഇതിന് പിന്നില്‍ വംശവെറി കൃത്യമായി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നു) ഏതാണ്ട് മിക്ക ഭീകരപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്കും പിന്നില്‍ മുസ്‌ലിംകളുണ്ട് എന്ന പ്രതീതിയാണുള്ളത്. അപരനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ച് വംശവെറുപ്പ് മൂര്‍ച്ഛിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ് ഇത്തരം റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടിംഗിന്റെ പ്രധാന ലക്ഷ്യം. ഭീകരതക്കെതിരായ യുദ്ധം’എന്ന പേരില്‍ പലസ്തീനികളുടെ സ്വതന്ത്രസമരത്തെ തകര്‍ക്കാന്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ചതിന്റെ പിന്നില്‍ ജൂതക്രൈസ്തവ സയണിസ്റ്റുകളുടെയും ആയുധ ലോബികളുടെയും ‘വെളുത്തകരങ്ങള്‍’ ദര്‍ശിക്കാം.
ഇന്ന് പാശ്ചാത്യ ലോകത്ത് വാര്‍ത്താ മാധ്യമങ്ങളിലൂടെ നടക്കുന്ന ഇസ്‌ലാം വിരുദ്ധമായ പ്രചാരണം അയഥാര്‍ത്ഥവും ഏകപക്ഷീയവും വംശീയപ്രോക്തവും ആണെന്നും, ആന്റിസെമിറ്റിസത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാനം ഏറ്റെടുത്തു കഴിഞ്ഞെന്നും സാമൂഹ്യശാസ്ത്ര ചിന്തകന്‍ വില്യം ഡാര്‍ലിമ്പിള്‍ നിരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. 2005 ഏപ്രില്‍ 15ന് ഒക്‌ലഹോമയില്‍ ബോംബ് സ്‌ഫോടനം നടത്തി 168 പേരെ വധിക്കുകയും 680പേര്‍ക്ക് പരിക്കേല്‍പ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത ക്രൈസ്തവ ഫണ്ടമെന്റലിസ്റ്റ് തിമോത്തി മക്‌വെയെ ആരും വെള്ളക്കാരനായ ക്രൈസ്തവവാദി എന്ന് വിളിക്കാറില്ല. എന്നാല്‍ അത്തരത്തിലൊരു നിഷ്ഠൂര കൃത്യം ചെയ്യുന്ന മുസ്ലിം നാമധാരിയെ ‘ഇസ്‌ലാമിക ഭീകരന്‍’ എന്നു വിളിക്കാന്‍ മുഖ്യധാരാ മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മടിയില്ല.
1995 ഏപ്രില്‍ 19ന് ഒക്‌ലഹോമ നഗരത്തില്‍ നടന്ന ബോംബ് സ്‌ഫോടനത്തിന് മണിക്കൂറുകള്‍ക്കുള്ളില്‍ ഇസ്‌ലാമിക തീവ്രവാദികളുടെ മേല്‍ കുറ്റം ചാര്‍ത്തപ്പെട്ടു; കോര്‍പ്പറേറ്റ് പത്രങ്ങളും ചാനലുകളും ഇതേറ്റെടുത്തു. അന്ന് രാത്രി സ്റ്റീവ് എമേഴ്‌സണ്‍ എന്ന ‘ഇസ്‌ലാമിക തീവ്രവാദ വിദഗ്ധന്‍’ ഒക്‌ലഹോമ ബോംബിംഗിന് ഇസ്‌ലാമിക തീവ്രവാദ ബോംബിംഗുമായി സമാനതകളുണ്ടെന്ന് സി.ബി.എസ് ചാനലില്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ബോംബെന്ന പ്രതീതി ഉയര്‍ത്തിയ ഉപകരണവുമായി ജോര്‍ഡാനിയന്‍ അമേരിക്കക്കാരനെ ലണ്ടനില്‍ വെച്ച് പിടികൂടുകയും ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യാനായി അമേരിക്കയിലെത്തിക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത വാര്‍ത്ത പുറത്തു വന്നയുടനെ ഒക്‌ലഹോമയിലെ അയാളുടെ സമ്പാദ്യങ്ങള്‍ അക്രമണത്തിനിരയായി.
മധ്യ പൗരസ്ത്യ വംശജരായ ഒട്ടനവധി പേരെ സംശയിച്ച് കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തതായി റോയിട്ടര്‍ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്തു (ഏപ്രില്‍ 20, 1995). ഒക്‌ലഹോമാ ഭീകരാക്രമത്തിന് ശേഷം അവക്ക് പിന്നില്‍ ഇസ്‌ലാമിക ഭീകരതയാണെന്ന പ്രചാരണം യാതൊരുളുപ്പുമില്ലാത്ത വിധം വ്യാപകമായി അമേരിക്കയിലും പാശ്ചാത്യ നാടുകളിലും നടന്നു; യഥാര്‍ത്ഥ പ്രതി പിടിയിലാകും വരെ. മുസ്ലിം വ്യക്തികളും സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളും അക്രമത്തിനിരയായി. യഥാര്‍ത്ഥ പ്രതി അമേരിക്കന്‍ ക്രൈസ്തവ ദേശീയ വാദിയാണെന്നറിഞ്ഞ മുഹൂര്‍ത്തത്തില്‍ മാധ്യമ ചര്‍ച്ച മിലീഷ്യ പ്രതിഭാസത്തിലേക്ക് വഴുതി മാറുന്നതാണ് പിന്നീട് കണ്ടത്. ഇസ്‌ലാമിക ഭീകരത’ എന്ന തലക്കെട്ട് ക്രമേണ ‘ഒക്‌ലഹോമ ദുരന്തം’എന്നാക്കി മാറ്റി! ഒക്‌ലഹോമ കേസുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഇരകളാക്കപ്പെട്ട നിരപരാധികളോട് ഒരു മാപ്പപേക്ഷയും മാധ്യമങ്ങളോ യു.എസ്. ഭരണകൂടമോ നടത്തിയില്ല. വംശീയവെറി എല്ലാ അനീതികളെയും മറികടക്കാന്‍ പോന്നതാണല്ലോ!
സെര്‍ബ് ക്രൈസ്തവതയുടെ വൈതാളികര്‍ 1995 ജൂലൈയില്‍ ബോസ്‌നിയന്‍ സെബ്രിനിക്കയില്‍ നടത്തിയ മുസ്ലിം കുരുതിയില്‍ 8000 പേരുടെ ജീവനാണ് പൊലിഞ്ഞത്. ഈ നരഹത്യയുടെ പേരില്‍ ക്രൈസ്തവ ഭീകരത എന്ന ആക്രോശം എവിടെ നിന്നും ഉയര്‍ന്നില്ല എന്ന വസ്തുത വില്ല്യം ഡാര്‍ലിമ്പിള്‍ ഓര്‍മ്മപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു. ബ്രിട്ടനില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന മുസ്‌ലിംകള്‍ക്കെതിരായ വംശീയാധിക്ഷേപങ്ങളുടെ ചെറിയൊരംശം പോലും ജൂതര്‍ക്കോ കത്തോലിക്കര്‍ക്കോ കറുത്ത വര്‍ഗക്കാര്‍ക്കെതിരോ നടന്നാല്‍ മാധ്യമ ലോകത്ത് കോളിളക്കമുണ്ടാക്ക പ്പെടുമെന്നതിനാല്‍ അസ്വീകാര്യമാകുമെന്നും ഡാര്‍ലിമ്പിള്‍ പറയുന്നു.
ഇസ്രായേലി അമേരിക്കന്‍ ബാന്ധവം ശക്തപ്പെടുത്താനും ഇസ്രായേലിനനുകൂലമായ സൈനിക സാമ്പത്തിക സഹായങ്ങള്‍ ത്വരിതപ്പെടുത്താനും 1970കള്‍ മുതല്‍ പലസ്തീന്‍ മുസ്ലിം ഭീകരത’ എന്ന പ്രയോഗം തുടങ്ങിയതായി അമേരിക്കന്‍ അക്കാദമീഷ്യന്മാര്‍ നിരീക്ഷിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. മുസ്ലിം വിരുദ്ധ വംശവെറിയുടെ യു.എസ്. കോര്‍പ്പറേറ്റ് വേരുകള്‍ ചെന്നെത്തുന്നത് അമേരിക്കയുടെ ഇസ്രായേല്‍ ചങ്ങാത്തത്തിലാണെന്ന് വിഖ്യാത മാധ്യമ വിശാരദന്‍ എഡ്വേര്‍ഡ് ഹെര്‍മാന്‍ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു. ഇതിന് നിദാനമായി നാല് കാരണങ്ങള്‍ അദ്ദേഹം നിരത്തുന്നു: 1. ഇസ്രായേല്‍ ചങ്ങാത്തത്തിലൂടെയുള്ള അമേരിക്കയുടെ നേട്ടങ്ങള്‍ 2. ഇസ്രായേല്‍ ലോബിയുടെ സ്വാധീനം 3. ജൂതരോടുള്ള ക്രൂരതകളോടുള്ള പാശ്ചാത്യന്‍ പശ്ചാതാപം 4. അറബ് വിരുദ്ധ വംശീയതയുടെ വ്യാപനം എന്നിവയാണവ. പരിഹാരമെന്ത്?
പ്രചണ്ഡമായ പ്രചാരണതന്ത്രങ്ങളിലൂടെ, ഇസ്‌ലാമിനെക്കുറിച്ച കുരിശുയുദ്ധ – കൊളോണിയന്‍ – ഓറിയന്റ്‌ലിസ്റ്റ് വാര്‍പ്പു മാതൃകകള്‍ സജീവമാക്കി നിര്‍ത്തുകയാണ് ആഗോള സാമ്രാജ്യത്വത്തിന്റെ ലക്ഷ്യം. ഇല്ലാത്ത ഒരു ശത്രുവിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ഏറെ പൊലിപ്പിച്ചു കാട്ടി പൗരന്മാരെ മുഴുവന്‍ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ട്, സാമ്രാജ്യത്വം അതിന്റെ അധിനിവേശ തന്ത്രങ്ങളും മനുഷ്യാവകാശ ലംഘനങ്ങളുമായി മുന്നേറുകയാണ്. ഈ ചെയ്തികളത്രയും ആഗോള ഭീകരതക്കെതിരായ മഹത്തായ പോരാട്ടമാണെന്ന നാട്യങ്ങളോടെ, ആ വിധം വരുത്തിത്തീര്‍ക്കാനാണ് ഇസ്‌ലാമോഫോബിയുടെ ത്രീവ്രമായ വ്യാപനം.
അതിഭീകരമായ ആണവായുധങ്ങള്‍ കയ്യിലേന്തി ഹിംസാത്മകതയോടെ പലസ്തീനികളുടെ മനുഷ്യാവകാശങ്ങളെ ചവിട്ടിയരക്കുന്ന ഇസ്രയേലിനെതിരെ ചെറുവിരലനക്കാത്ത പാശ്ചാത്യസമൂഹം, ആണവായുധങ്ങള്‍ നിര്‍മ്മിക്കാനിടയുണ്ട് എന്ന ഊഹത്തിന്റെ പേരില്‍ ഇറാനെ കടന്നാക്രമിക്കാനുള്ള വെമ്പലിലാണ്. ആസൂത്രിതമായ അപരത്വ നിര്‍മ്മിതിയിലൂടെ മാത്രമാണ് കൂര്‍ത്ത് മൂര്‍ത്ത കാപട്യത്തെ മറച്ചുവെക്കാനാവുക.
സ്വന്തം ജനതയെ എന്നും ഏതെങ്കിലും ആശങ്കയില്‍ തളച്ചിടുന്നത് രാഷ്ട്രീയ അധികാരികള്‍ക്ക് ആശ്വാസകരമാണ്. മധ്യേഷ്യയിലെ അധിനിവേശങ്ങള്‍ തുടരണമെങ്കില്‍ ഇസ്ലാമോഫോബിയ നിലനിന്നേ പറ്റൂ. അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ സമാധാനശക്തികള്‍ വെറുപ്പിന്റെ ഈ രാഷ്ട്രീയം കൃത്യമായി തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞേ മതിയാകൂ. വിഭവ ശോഷണത്തിലൂടെയും മാലിന്യവര്‍ദ്ധനവിലൂടെയും യുദ്ധങ്ങളിലൂടെയും വംശീയവെറിയുടെ വ്യാപനത്തിലൂടെയും അസംസ്‌കാരത്തിന്റെ കാളിമപടര്‍ത്തിയ യു.എസ്. സാമ്രാജ്യത്വത്തിനകത്ത് തന്നെ നടക്കുന്ന പുത്തന്‍ സാമൂഹ്യ വിപ്ലവത്തിന്റെ തുടികൊട്ടിന് ലോകം ആവേശപൂര്‍വ്വം പിന്തുണ നല്‍കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. മുസ്ലിം നാടുകളില്‍ യുദ്ധം പടര്‍ത്താന്‍ ആയുധവ്യാപാര ശക്തികളുമായി കൂട്ടുചേര്‍ന്ന് പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്ന വലതുപക്ഷ ഇവാഞ്ചലിക്കല്‍ ക്രൈസ്തവ സയണിസ്റ്റ് വിഭാഗം ക്രൈസ്തവതയ്ക്ക് വരുത്തിവയ്ക്കുന്ന ദ്രോഹം എത്ര കനത്തതാണെന്ന് വിശ്വാസി സമൂഹം തിരിച്ചറിയണം.
വംശീയവിരുദ്ധവും ആധിപത്യവിരുദ്ധവുമായ ഒരു ചരിത്ര വായന അടിയന്തിരമായി നടക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. ഉദാഹരണത്തിന്, പരക്കെ പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, കൊളമ്പസിന്റെ അമേരിക്കന്‍ കണ്ടെത്തല്‍(1492) മനുഷ്യ ചരിത്ത്രിന്റെ പുരോഗതിയിലേക്കുള്ള കാല്‍വെപ്പായിരുന്നില്ല. വടക്കേ അമേരിക്കയില്‍ മാത്രം 10 മില്ല്യനോളം മനുഷ്യരാണ് ഈ കണ്ടെത്തല്‍’ മൂലം കൂട്ടക്കുരുതിക്കിരയായത്.
മുസ്‌ലിംകളുടെ സങ്കുചിത മതവ്യാഖ്യാനങ്ങൾക്ക്‌ ഇസ്ലാമോഫോബിയ വളർത്തുന്നത്തിലുള്ള പങ്ക് കാണാതിരിക്കരുത്. UNDP മനുഷ്യവികസന റിപ്പോർട്ട്‌ അനുസരിച്ചു സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യ വിജ്ഞാന വിനിമയം, സ്ത്രീ ശാക്തീകരണം എന്നിവയിൽ അറബി രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾ ഏറെ പിന്നിലാണ്. ഏകാധിപത്യമാണ് അവിടം അടക്കി വാഴുന്നത്. അത് ഉറപ്പിക്കുന്ന വിധമുള്ള മത വ്യാഖ്യാനങ്ങളെ ആണ് അറബ് ഷെയ്ഖ്ഡമുകൾ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുക. സൃഷ്ടിയോന്മുഖ ഭാവനകൾ, കല, സംഗീതം എന്നിവക്ക് മുസ്ലിം പ്യൂരിറ്റനുകളായ ഹമ്പലി വഹാബികൾ പൊതുവെ എതിരാണ്. ജീവനുള്ളവയെ വരക്കുന്നതിൽ നിന്ന് തടയുന്നവരാണ് മിക്ക മുസ്ലിം നിയമജ്ഞരും.
മനുഷ്യപുരോഗതിക്ക് നിദാനമായ ഇച്ഛാസ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തെ നിഷേധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുള്ള തലയിലെഴുത്ത്-വിധി വാദമാണ് മിക്ക മുസ്ലിം പണ്ഡിതർക്കും. സമാധാനത്തിനും സഹവർത്തിത്വത്തിനും ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഖുർആൻ സൂക്തങ്ങളൊക്കെ റദ്ദുചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടുവെന്ന അതിവിചിത്രമായ സിദ്ധാന്തമാണ് പല മുസ്ലിം നിയമഞരും വെച്ചു പുലർത്തുന്നത്. അടിമത്തം ഇസ്‌ലാമിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണെന്നും അതിനെ ഇല്ലാതാക്കാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവർ ആവിശ്വാസികളാണെന്നും പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്ന സാലെ അൽ ഫൗസാനെ പോലുള്ളവർ ആസ്ഥാനപണ്ഡിതരായി മുസ്ലിം രാജ്യത്തു വിലസുകയാണ്. മുസ്ലിംകൾക്ക് അവരുടെ ജ്ഞാന തൃഷ്ണ വിനഷ്ട്ടമായി അന്തർജീർണത ബാധിച്ചതാണ് കോളോണിയലിസത്തിന്റെ കാരണം.
ഇസ്‌ലാമോഫോബിയക്ക് പരോക്ഷമായി പിന്തുണ നല്‍കുന്നതില്‍ നിന്ന് മുസ്‌ലിംകള്‍ വിട്ടകലണം. നന്മകല്‍പിക്കുക, തിന്മ വിരോധിക്കുക എന്ന അടിസ്ഥാന ധാര്‍മ്മിക ദൗത്യത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് (ഖുര്‍ആന്‍ 3:110, 9:71) ആര്‍ക്കും തങ്ങളെ പിന്തിരിപ്പിക്കാനാവില്ല എന്നവര്‍ ദൃഢപ്രതിജ്ഞ ചെയ്യണം. മതവൈവിധ്യങ്ങളും ബഹുസ്വരതകളും പുഷ്‌കലമായി നില്‍ക്കുന്ന, നീതിയിലും ധര്‍മ്മ ചിന്തയിലും ഐക്യപ്പെടുന്ന സൗഹൃദത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ലോകം പണിയാനാണ് മുസ്ലിം ധിഷണശാലികള്‍ യത്‌നിക്കേണ്ടത്. 2011ല്‍ ഈജിപ്തിലെ തഹ്‌രീര്‍ സ്‌ക്വയറില്‍ കോപ്റ്റിക് ക്രൈസ്തവരുടെ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനക്ക് മുസ്‌ലിംകള്‍ സുരക്ഷാവലയം തീര്‍ത്തുകൊണ്ട് ഇതിന്റെ പ്രായോഗികത അവര്‍ തെളിയിച്ചു.
